Your files never leave your device

MY PDFs is built around one core principle: local processing. Every tool on this site — merging, splitting, converting, compressing, watermarking, page numbering and password protection — runs entirely inside your web browser using client-side JavaScript. When you select a file, it is read directly from your device into the browser's memory, processed there, and saved back to your disk. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, and we never see, store, or have access to the contents of your documents.

No accounts and no file storage

The tools are free and require no sign-up. Because processing is local, we operate no file storage and keep no copies of your documents. When you close the browser tab, the processed data is discarded from memory.

Third-party libraries

To process files locally, your browser downloads open-source JavaScript libraries (such as PDF.js, pdf-lib, jsPDF, JSZip and docx) from public content delivery networks. These requests contain no information about your files — only the library code is fetched.

Local storage

We store a small preference (your selected interface language) in your browser's local storage so pages open in the language you chose. It contains no personal data and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

Hosting

This website is served by Firebase Hosting. Standard, anonymous server logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested URL) may be collected by the hosting provider for security and operational purposes, as described in Google's privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
